Renting the Capitol

The Theatre’s 782-seat auditorium, can be booked for various functions, conventions or reunions. Meeting space is also available on the second level in the Empress and Balcony Lounge. The Empress Studio Theatre has been very popular for the taping of television specials including: CBC’s Double Etoiles, T.F.O.’s Boite a Chansons and the Capitol’s very own Late Night Live, Songwriters Circle and the Ligue d’improvisation acadienne.

Located in the downtown core, at 811 Main Street, the Capitol is a five-minute stroll from major convention hotels, with restaurants, clubs, shopping and business facilities all equally nearby. Payable parking is also available.

Main Hall

With seating for 782, the Main Hall is a fully equipped theatre facility that guarantees success to any type of conference or performing arts presentation.

Main Lobby

Able to accommodate up to 200, our Main Lobby offers a quiet, elegant ambience that lends itself to receptions, press conferences or simple presentations.

Balcony Lounge

A large spacious room with lots of natural light, the Balcony Lounge is an ideal setting for seminar, board meetings or small receptions.

Empress Theatre

Offering a more informal atmosphere, the Empress Theatre is the perfect place for parties, pub nights or cabarets.
